Report an error
Email data@fireverge.com with:
- the page URL,
- what looks wrong, and
- a source for the right figure, if you have one.
Fire departments can also tell us about reporting gaps. NFIRS is voluntary, so a department that doesn't report to it shows up with low or missing numbers.
How we handle corrections
- Factual errors in a story, such as a wrong number, date, name or place, are fixed in the text. The story gets an "Updated" date, and the fix is logged below.
- Errors in data pages are fixed at the source, in our processing code, and the site is rebuilt, so every affected page changes together. Fixes that affect many pages are logged below.
- Small fixes such as typos or formatting aren't logged.
