Frequently asked

My city or town is missing

FireVerge builds pages for jurisdictions that report to the National Fire Incident Reporting System (NFIRS) with enough incident volume to be meaningful. NFIRS participation is voluntary, so some departments — especially very small ones — may not appear. If you think a place should be covered, email data@fireverge.com.

A statistic looks wrong

Our figures come straight from public federal data (see Data Sources) and are aggregated as described in our methodology. The most recent reporting year is provisional and rises as late reports arrive, which can explain a lower-than-expected count. If something still looks off, tell us the place and the number and we'll investigate.

Can I use FireVerge's data?
