FireVerge

Terms of Use

Plain terms for using FireVerge. In short: our data is free to read and informational — but it is not an emergency service and comes with no warranty.

Effective July 19, 2026

⚠️ FireVerge is not an emergency service. If you are facing an active fire or life-threatening situation, call 911 and follow the guidance of local fire and emergency officials.

Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using FireVerge (the "Site"), you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

Informational Use Only

FireVerge presents historical and statistical fire, wildfire, and air-quality data compiled from public government sources. It is provided for general information and education only. It is not emergency guidance, legal advice, insurance advice, engineering advice, or a substitute for professional judgment. Always rely on official emergency channels, your local fire department, and qualified professionals for decisions that affect safety, property, or insurance.

Accuracy & "As Is" Disclaimer

We work to present source data faithfully, but we cannot guarantee it is complete, current, or error-free. NFIRS reporting is voluntary and coverage varies by department and state, and the most recent reporting year is provisional and rises as late reports arrive. The Site and all data are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. See our methodology for how the data is built and its limitations.

Data & Attribution

The underlying datasets are public-domain U.S. government records (see Data Sources). FireVerge's own compilations, rankings, grades, and written content may be used for editorial and educational purposes with attribution to FireVerge. For commercial or bulk reuse, contact data@fireverge.com.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Site to break the law, to scrape it in a way that disrupts service, to misrepresent the data, or to interfere with its operation or security.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, FireVerge and its contributors are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of, or reliance on, the Site or its data.

The Site links to third-party sites (government agencies and data providers). We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, or policies of those external sites.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
